Saw my oncologist today. Platelets are up to 69. No platelet infusion needed. Thank goodness.
Cisplatin and gemzar will continue with the second cycle next week.

what does having platelets affect treatment? sorry, i'm not familiar with these things.
Gemzar causes your platelets to drop. If your platelets drop too low, you could start having internal bleeding. And treatment would be put on hold or at least the dosage will be reduced like it was for me the last gemzar infusion.
